Literary Mothers

"Our mothers always remain the strangest, craziest people we've ever met.”

First off I want to greet you guys and your moms a VERY HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! In the spirit of the occasion I would just like to highlight some literary mothers! This is in no particular order:

1) Minny Jackson from The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Sassy and really resilient, Minny Jackson is such a strong mother. The way she provides for her children and protects them is something I admire about her.

2) Mindy Sheridan (Park's mother) from Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

Park's mom is probably one of my favorite mothers I have ever read. I really love her caring and compassionate trait, especially towards Eleanor. She is such a cool and understanding mother.

3) Mrs. O'Neill (Lincoln's mother) from Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

The thing about Mrs. O'Neill is that she is flawed however she is still a mother who cares for her son and protects him no matter what which made her memorable to me.

4) Mrs. Bennet from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

I know that Mrs. Bennet might not be the best mother but beyond her crazy obsession to marry off her daughters to rich men, I do believe that she is a good mother who is only looking out for her offsprings.

(SKIP THIS PART IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE FIRST THREE BOOKS IN THE SHOPAHOLIC SERIES!)

5) Rebecca "Becky" Bloomwood from Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella

Yes Becky's instincts as a mother might not always spell success but the way she tries her best to take care of Luke and Minnie (her daughter) makes me so proud of her. I could see that a lot of young and new mothers could relate to the tribulations Becky experiences and she handles it all with optimism.

Those are just some of the literary moms that made an impression on me in their respective novels.

How about you guys, who are the literary mothers that made an impact on you? Don't hesitate to share them by commenting down below

Again HAPPY MOTHERS DAY people!
